Gamechanger - FCA Camps 2011

Girls Black Mountain (Multi-Sport Camp) Black Mountain, NC
166 campers, 61 first time commitments to Christ

I was a Huddle Leader, essentially a camp counselor, for this camp. I have heard so much about this camp and spent much of my spring time promoting this camp to girls teams in my area. We had 22 huddle leaders, who are college athletes from all over the southeast.

Huddle Leaders at GBM

We have huddle leader training two days before campers arrive. We share testimonies and dive into the word before we minister to the campers all week. This rich time of fellowship is one of my favorite parts of camp. Huddle leaders are truly the 'heartbeat of camp'.

I had 8 girls in my huddle. Such a random group of girls. :) They definitely didn't all become best friends, but I know the Lord moved through our time together. In the same huddle, I had a camper who had limited to no knowledge of God and a girl who had become a Christian at this camp three years ago. We had a different speaker every night that shared the truth and gospel on a basic level. It was interesting to see how my girls responded to each of them differently. I am constantly shocked at the level pain our youth faces these days.
Death. Suicide. Abuse. Neglect. Financial Troubles. Broken Homes.
The list goes on.

Searching for truth. Looking for Love.
We must share.

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"
